On January 31, 1965, G Koger, John Scott, Maury Apfel, Jim Pegues, and Lloyd Bentley petitioned MAFCA for chapter status. On March 3, 1965, that petition was approved. In addition to the initial names on the petition, Ed Fest, Charlie Pue, B Slimp, Harvey Wilson, Dr. Pat Nixon, Roland Mangum,  were some of the initial members.
